The house was being run by its own storage.
The family's daily routine was governed by where things had to be put. Every room had become a compromise between what it was for and what it had to hold.

The problem it solves
The things you own should not run the house.
A large premium apartment handed over with generous carpet area and almost no resolution: big rooms, nominal storage, a grid of downlights, and circulation that was whatever was left over.

02Site and approach

Premium apartments arrive with generous carpet area and almost no resolution. The rooms are large, the storage is nominal, the lighting is a grid of downlights, and the circulation is whatever is left over once the rooms are drawn.
This study treats the interior as a building problem. Daylight is mapped hour by hour. Circulation is planned before furniture. Joinery is drawn at 1:5 so that every reveal, shadow gap and door swing is decided before a vendor quotes.
The corridor — normally leftover space — becomes designed architecture, with a continuous recessed light channel drawing the eye to a framed opening and a glimpse of planting.
The result is quieter than a styled interior and considerably harder to achieve, which is exactly why it is drawn rather than shopped.

The family's daily routine was governed by where things had to be put. Every room had become a compromise between what it was for and what it had to hold.
02 · Design response
Joinery was designed as part of the wall plane — full-height, flush, continuous — so storage disappears and the remaining volume reads as a single generous space.
03 · Delivery evidence
Every joinery run was set out from a physical site survey rather than the builder's handover drawings. A 20 mm discrepancy in a flush wall of cabinetry is visible from across the room.
